In the Midst of the Mundane

Today is a very special day for me.  In my every day mundane life, a sinner was saved.  In that very moment the ordinary became extraordinary.  The common became uncommon.  The usual became unusual.  I played a part in God’s story for the redemption of the world.  If I sit here long enough and ponder that last sentence, I may very well end up a messy heap of tears on the floor. Activating Discipline…

Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

Discipline.  In today’s society this word almost seems as bad as any curse word.  We hear it and have a tendency to shutter.  It’s an “ouch” word.  Continue reading “Activating Discipline…”

A Typo Text to Encourage My Heart…

Keeping In Step with My Dad

Galatians 5:25

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit”

Are there ever times when a certain smell, or taste triggers a childhood memory? How about a scripture? Today as I grabbed a cup of coffee (with almond joy creamer…yummy!) and sat down with God’s Word, and I flipped open to Galatians 5:25. Continue reading “Keeping In Step with My Dad”

Resolve to Be Ready…

Just recently a good friend of mine had a death in her family.  Her mother-in-law passed and the family was hit pretty hard with this unexpected passing.  My son and her son are best friends, so my son and I decided to go to her house to pick him up and let him hang with us for the day.
